The employees are happy to help demonstrate how they work and can educate you on the different options available. Once you have an idea of what you like, grab some free swatches (you can also order them online).

3. FOUNDED IN 1946, FAMILY OWNED & USA MADE You have three generations of custom window treatment expertise at your fingertips and *bonus* they are USA made! We love living in such a global economy, but sometimes it’s nice to know you’re buying a product made here at home!

4. ONE STOP SHOP You do not have to run around to a bunch of vendors to get custom window treatments. Start to finish – they manage all the details. Once you’ve decided which window treatment is right for you, they offer free measurement services (who doesn’t like free?!), offer installation, and are always there for support.

5. SATISFACTION GUARANTEED Speaking of support, they stand by their products. In fact, we think the biggest measure of a company is what they do when something goes *wrong.* When one of our clients ordered a few shades and several of them had some of the knotting come undone on the mechanisms, The Shade Store team promptly remade the shades. No company is perfect, so the real test is what happens when things don’t go as planned. Whether you measured incorrectly, an employee measured incorrectly, or you simply do not like what you’ve ordered, they will work with you to find the right solution (you can read a little more about that here ). ❤️

6. I LOVE KATE SPADE AND THEY HAVE A KATE SPADE LINE…YEA! Not to mention that they also carry fabrics by Nate Berkus, Lilly Pulitzer, Jonathan Adler, The Novogratz, (and more!) to bring you some seriously yummy fabrics and materials. While our clients frequently chose neutral window treatments that will let them change their decor over time, if you are looking for a bit of “wow” on your windows, they can deliver!

8. BUDGET Okay, let’s be real. Window treatments can be a big, expensive investment (which is one of the reasons many of our clients choose neutral colors for their shades). But the nice thing is that not only does The Shade Store offer three price groups, they have this Quick Price Quote tool to help you figure out how many zeros you are talking about to help keep you on budget, *and* you can configure any shade in any fabric based on the measurements of your window right on their website and get a price right then and there for the shade, without even having to talk to a human. Now that is putting technology to good use!!

KEEPING YOUR LITTLE HUMANS SAFE Something that I had not given a lot of thought to until I had my own little munchkin two years ago (turning this into one of my personal favorite reasons to love The Shade Store) is their commitment to child safety. Every window treatment meets standards set by the Consumer Product Safety Council and the Window Covering Manufactures Association. If you have little ones running around take a look at their cordless window treatments. These have been voted Best For Kids’ Certification, that’s a big win in my book! So yes, we have a crush on The Shade Store. They aren’t the cheapest window treatment vendor out there, but they make the shopping easy (saving you time), have a wider selection of fabrics than many lower-cost vendors (so you can add more personality), and have a great satisfaction warrantee. They are worth a look if you are in the market for shades!
